Our History
2024
In 2024 Track Two’s ongoing email resource of news articles with analysis on both the Russia-Ukraine and Israel-Hamas wars continued. The news, videos and arts pieces that inform our Track Two network remind us of Esalen trainings on non-violent communications.
Our April Conference at Esalen gathered Americans and Russians to explore the anti-war activities of Russians that have left Russia before and since February 2022. The group attending chose to continue discussions via a series of Signal groups on three issues: the environmental impact of war and authoritarianism, resources for exiles and the concept of a global commons around democratic values of collaboration, freedom of speech, mutual respect, responsibility and generosity.
With meetings at the Internet Archive in San Francisco and with citizen diplomats in Europe, the United Kingdom, Serbia, Georgia, Bolivia and Russia, Track Two pursued the opportunity to examine citizen diplomacy more generally.
Track Two’s own history continued with a variety of publication channels contemplated for 2025.
As an outcome of our April conference, we are developing an extensive toolkit for those living in exile. Much of the content reflects Track Two’s story of citizen diplomacy.
